Introduction
For almost 1000’s of years rishis and gurus used to chant mantras and slokas by creating powerful positive energies in the atmosphere
These mantras and slokas were nothing but knowledge which were handed down from one generation to another generation through memorization and cycle continued for many generations

Where are the universities now ?
Do they exist or destroyed ?

- Number 10 : Somapura which is established by Pala king Dharampala in 7th century ,It is said that university is bigger than nalanda university
- With different teaching , university was rooted with tradition of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism for more than 400 years until islamic invaders destroyed university
- Number 9 : Sharada Peeth Temple university located in present-day Azad Kashmir which is ruined Hindu temple and one of the biggest centres of learning in ancient India
- It is said that Indian philosopher Adi Shankaracharya graduated from this university which is at least 2500 years old and not to forget Sharada Peeth is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas
- But saddest thing is , 500 years ago Sikander Butshikhan destroyed this university and established Islam in Kashmir.
- Number 8: is Takshashila located in Gandhara of ancient india and todays pakistan ,It is said that university was built 3600 years ago and not to forget it is one of the oldest university in world where Many physicians, politicians,, rulers, authors, and astronomers graduated
- With 60 different courses , university was accommodated with 3000 teachers and 10,500 students from india , Greece, Arabia & China and it was in 5th century where huns destroyed university completely leaving no records of scriptures
- Number 7: Bikrampur University which is established in 7th century and by the time of 11th century the centre attracted around 8,000 students which also included students from China, Tibet, Nepal and Thailand
- As per 2013 archaeological evidence it is one of the famous Buddhist education center in ancient india and today site is located in bangladesh
- Number 6 : Vikramshila where Logic, Philosophy, Vyakaran, Tantra Shastra, Karmakanda, and many different courses were taught with 1000 students and 100 teachers
- University was established by pala king Dharampala in 7th century and it is said that ,There were six college building where All buildings were connected through six gates.
- And also A Dwar Pandit was appointed to examine candidates, who came to seek admission in University. It was in 12th century idiot invader Bakhtiyar Khilji destroyed university which is now located in Bhagalpur district of Bihar state
- Number 5 Pushpagiri University located in ancient Kalinga, in the district of todays Jajpur in odisha state
- It is said that , Emperor Ashoka established university campus which is spread across three adjoining hills – Lalitgiri, Ratnagiri and Udayagiri
- in 7th century, Chinese traveller Xuanzang mentions about centre which taught many different subjects and attracted students across the world, But saddest thing is university was destroyed by islamic invaders
- Number 4: Nagarjuna Vidyapeeth is one of the ancient university which was located on the banks of the Krishna River
- This university was dedicated to Indian Buddhist philosopher Nagarjuna which is built in period of 7th to 8th century where Students from foreign countries came to study and graduate here
- From medicine to science and mineralogy to geography , university has various branches including teachings of Buddhism , As per Archaeological excavations university is one of the oldest which dates back to several hundred years before BCE
- Number 3 :Nalanda University which is one of the famous and oldest universities in ancient india which is now located in state of bihar
- the foundation of Nalanda University was laid by a Gupta Emperor which contained temples, classrooms, meditation halls, monasteries, and it is more than 2000 years old campus
- Admission in Nalanda University was so tough that Students has to clear entrance test and university accommodated more than 10000 students and 2000 teachers from different part of world
- But it was in 12th century , idiot emperor Bakhtiyar Khilji destroyed nalanda by burning 90 lakh books
- Number 2: Kanthalloor Shala which is located in Thiruvananthapuram of Kerala state and This university was also called Nalanda of the south where students across the country and beyond borders including Sri Lanka used to come and pursue their education
- It is one of the famous universities of India where 64 different subjects were taught and it is said that university is built between 9th to 12 th century
- Number 1 : Mithila University which is said to be from the time of raja janak who is father of sita ma
- With vedas and nyaya shastra university also taught literature , politics ,warfare and not to forget ayurvedic subjects which is practised even today
- It was in 12th century Indian mathematician and philosopher Gangesha Upadhyaya founded a school of Navya-Nyaya which means new logic at the same site and later he wrote Tattva Chintamani which gained importance at the time
- Also there are many other universities like Vallabhi ,Odantapuri ,Jagaddala and Nadia which are found nowhere today because of islamic invaders who destroyed universities and knowledge on the name of religion
